The project was selected for funding following a restricted call for proposals of strategic importance under the Interreg VI-A Lithuania–Poland Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021–2027. Under this Programme, five operations of strategic importance were selected for funding, including two involving beneficiaries from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
Partnership activities related to the development and promotion of the spa brand in the Polish-Lithuanian border region will continue until January 2028.
The total budget for the project is EUR 7,412,986.51, of which the EU contribution amounts to EUR 5,930,389.20.
This will be the first collaborative project of its kind between spa towns on the Polish-Lithuanian border, and it is certain to have a positive impact on boosting the competitiveness of the entire region.
The planned activities will contribute to:
- strengthening cross-border cooperation between partners,
- the development of health resorts on the Polish-Lithuanian border,
- to create a competitive health tourism brand.
